Florian Hertweck is an architect and professor of architecture at the University of Luxembourg. A graduate of l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Malaquais with a project selected by l’Académie d’Architecture, he established three focuses for his work: practice under his agency Hertweck Devernois Architectes Urbanistes (www.hertweckdevernois.com); research and the realization and publication of several works on architecture, city and ecology; and the field of education, as a teacher at the l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Versailles (2009 to 2016), where he established the first French-Chinese Masters in Ecological Urbanism, and then, in September 2016, at the University of Luxembourg. His major publications are: Der Berliner Architekturstreit (2010), Climats (avec Thierry Mandoul, Jac Fol et Virginie Lefebvre, 2012), The City in the City. Berlin: A Green Archipelago (avec Sébastien Marot, 2013), Dialogic City. Berlin wird Berlin (avec Arno Brandlhuber et Thomas Mayfried, 2015). He is currently working on a theory of architecture about earth as a major architectural element.
