Bernard Gainnier’s reflections on the panel on June 27, 2018: “Technology at the service of man: the time of choice!”
A statutory auditor and chartered accountant with a corporate law degree and an MBA from the IAE Aix en Provence business school, Bernard Gainnier began his career with PwC in 1985 and was made Partner in 1995. After working in the Paris and Marseille offices, he relocated to Shanghai in 1997 and then joined the San José, CA office in the United States in 2000.
Returning to Paris in 2001, he played an important role in PwC’s expansion and helped to organise the audit and consultancy operations by business line. In 2009, he became a member of the Executive Committee, with in particular responsibility for business line development, the Mid-Tier segment, and marketing.
Bernard was first elected by his peers to a four-year term as Chairman of PwC France and Francophone Africa on 1 July 2013 and then re-elected on 1 July 2017 to a second term focused on driving PwC’s ongoing transformation. As a dedicated entrepreneur, Bernard founded #LetsgoFrance in June 2016 to promote successful French companies and is a founding member of the PwC corporate foundation for France and Francophone Africa.
Deeply engaged in the process of transforming the finance and accounting profession, Bernard is Vice Chairman of the Finance Innovation global competitiveness cluster. And since 2018, he is also President of the F3P (French Federation of Multidisciplinary Firms).
